Our Youth are Our Future : Former President Ram Nath Kovind.
The 14th convocation of KL Deemed University was held on Saturday at the university campus in Vaddeswaram. Former President of India Ram Nath Kovind was the chief guest and delivered the address. Andhra Pradesh Governor Syed Abdul Nazeer was the guest of honour and presented the degrees to the students.
Speaking on the occasion, former President Ram Nath Kovind said that he was happy to be invited as the chief guest at the K L Deemed to be University convocation. He said that the youth are our future. He said that especially the youth of our country need physical fitness. He said that the youth should always be strong by doing exercises like yoga, pranayama and exercise. He said that education brings humility. Humility takes a person to a higher level. He said that in the 21st century, just having a degree is not enough. He said that along with a degree, skills are a must for today's youth. He said that the world is moving forward with new innovations. He said that Indian youth is no exception to that. He said that the philosophy of constant learning is the most powerful weapon. He said that there must be many people who have come from rural areas to study, but he also came from a rural area. He recalled his childhood life when he used to walk 6 kilometers to and from school every day for his high school education.
Speaking at the event, KL Deemed University President Sri Koneru Satyanarayana said that they are providing awareness about social programs to the students studying in their university along with their studies. He said that their students go to rural areas and do various types of service programs. He said that the students who have completed their studies in their university, which has the highest international quality standards in the country and has an A Plus certificate, have created history by getting jobs in the country and abroad with salaries of Rs. 57 lakhs.
Vice Chancellor Dr. G. Parthasaradi Varma said that degrees will be awarded to 4,706 students who completed their studies in the academic year 2024. Out of these, 166 are Ph. D., 604 are postgraduate and 3,936 are undergraduate. He also said that 42 students who performed extremely well in the last academic year will be awarded gold medals and 37 students who performed exceptionally well will be awarded silver medals and cash prizes. He said that students from his university have successfully completed more than 170 national and international projects in their respective departments. He said that funds of up to Rs 100 crore have been allocated to KL from the UGC for this. He said that his university has 1200 highly qualified teachers, of whom 600 have doctorates in various fields. He recalled that many students have made the country proud by winning gold and silver medals in various sports at the international level.
Koneru Satyanarayana presided over the program. The event was graced by the communication and university registrar Dr. K. Subbarao. The program was attended by KLEF Secretary Mrs. Koneru Sivakanchanalatha, Vice President Sri Koneru Raja Harin, Board Member Koneru Nikhila, Deans, Directors, Principals and Heads of Departments of all departments.
