KLEF CIIE Students Excel at Smart India Hackathon

At KL Deemed to be University, innovation and excellence continue to thrive. Two outstanding teams from our Center for Innovation, Incubation & Entrepreneurship (CIIE) made us immensely proud by excelling at the prestigious Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2024. This nationwide initiative fosters a culture of innovation, creativity, and problem-solving among students across India.

About SIH 2024 : The Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2024 is a large-scale initiative organized by the Government of India to challenge young minds to tackle real-world problems provided by government departments, industries, and NGOs. With themes covering healthcare, agriculture, energy, education, and public services, the hackathon encourages participants to develop cutting-edge, technology-driven solutions. By leveraging technologies like AI, ML, IoT, blockchain, and cloud computing, the event promotes entrepreneurial thinking and practical application of skills.

K L Deemed to be University's Internal Hackathon

The internal round of SIH 2024 was held at K L Deemed to be University's R&D Block from August 30, 2024, 2 PM to August 31, 2024, 2 PM. This 24-hour event witnessed 118 multidisciplinary teams, comprising 708 students from various departments, collaborating on innovative solutions. Following rigorous evaluation, 50 teams were shortlisted for the external round, and three advanced to the national-level competition.

National-Level Achievements

Team Kal Hona Code

This talented group of B.Tech students - Meghana Atmakuri, A. Raghu Sree Nandan, Appari Satya Barghav, Ala Gowtham Siva Kumar, RVNSS Shyam, and Varanasi Sai Sree Swetha - won the Software Edition of SIH 2024. Their project, an AI-supported AICTE approval process portal, showcased a complete AI full-stack solution with high efficiency and scalability. Industry experts praised the project for its real-world applicability and potential.

Team Garuda Vega

Comprising Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, Gullinkala Mouli Sagar, Vakkapatla Subhashini, Alla Sai Surya, Peddibhotla Phani Radha, and Harshitha, this exceptional team triumphed in the Hardware Edition Grand Finale. Their innovative solution demonstrated technical expertise and interdisciplinary collaboration, earning them recognition as champions in the hardware category.

  2. Real-World Impact: Both teams' solutions were recognized for their scalability and practical applications, with Kal Hona Code's project receiving funding for prototype development.
  3. Recognition: The achievements reflect the dedication of K L Deemed to be University's students and mentors, including Dr. Nillu Singh and Dr. Prashant Shukla, who guided the teams to success.
