Anti-Drug Awareness Conference at KL.
KL Deemed University hosted an anti-drug awareness conference on Monday, with State Narcotics Officer Ravi Krishna, IPS, attending as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, he emphasized that curbing drug use is a collective responsibility and that crime prevention is more crucial than legal proceedings after a crime has been committed.
He highlighted that anti-drug awareness programs are being conducted across the state, with K L Deemed to be University playing an active role in this initiative. He encouraged students to participate in the Elite Anti-Narcotics Group for Law Enforcement (Eagle) programs and serve as brand ambassadors to make Andhra Pradesh drug-free. He also urged students to spread awareness and report drug-related issues via the toll-free number 1972, ensuring victims receive counseling and support.
Guntur District SP Satish Kumar, IPS, also spoke at the event, stressing the importance of student-led awareness campaigns about the dangers of drug use. He cautioned that those arrested for drug-related offenses, particularly in ganja cases, would have lifelong criminal records. He advised students aspiring to study abroad to steer clear of drugs, as legal consequences could impact their future opportunities.
K L Deemed to be University Registrar Dr. K. Subbarao expressed his pride in the university's safe and ragging-free environment. He assured that KL students would actively support law enforcement in preventing drug abuse.
