Cancer Awareness Conference at KL
On the occasion of World Cancer Day, KL Deemed University organized a Cancer Awareness Conference on Wednesday, with VOGS President Dr. Vellanki Sridevi attending as the chief guest.
Dr. Sridevi emphasized that adopting a healthy lifestyle from a young age can help prevent cancer. Addressing students and female faculty members, she raised awareness about cervical and breast cancer, explaining that environmental pollution and modern lifestyle choices are contributing factors to the rising incidence of cancer.
She highlighted the importance of early detection through regular medical check-ups and preventive measures to mitigate the risk of cancer. She urged women to remain vigilant and undergo routine screenings, as early diagnosis significantly increases the chances of successful treatment.
The event saw participation from University Pro Vice Chancellors Dr. AVS. Prasad, Dr. K. Rajasekhara Rao, Registrar Dr. K. Subbarao, Dean in-charge of Student Welfare Department Dr. KRS. Prasad, KL Women's Development Convener and Associate Dean Dr. K. Ruth Ramya, Co-Convenor Srilakshmi, CSIT Assistant Professor Dr. Praveena, and more than 200 students. Also in attendance were JCs Vijayawada Impact Branch President Rajendra Reddy Kandula, Project Director Suma Atluri, and other distinguished guests.
