K L Deemed to be University Organizes Farmers' Awareness Program on Organic Farming.

In an effort to promote sustainable agriculture, KL Agricultural College, in collaboration with the NSS Department of K L Deemed to be University's Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Division, conducted a Farmers' Awareness Program on Organic Farming in Nuthakki village, Mangalagiri mandal, on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ratnaprasad, Director of KL Agricultural College, highlighted the benefits of organic farming and bio-fertilizers, emphasizing that natural methods significantly reduce costs while enhancing the quality of agricultural produce. He stated that organic farming not only ensures better market prices but also contributes to environmental sustainability.

Dr. B. Tirupathi Reddy, Head of the AI&DS Department, educated farmers on modern agricultural technologies, including:

High-yield and pest-resistant seeds for better crop output.

GPS, drones, and sensors for precision farming and efficient resource management.

Greenhouses, poly houses, and sprinkler systems to optimize irrigation and reduce water consumption.

He cautioned that chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and synthetic chemicals degrade soil quality negatively impacting crop value and market demand. Instead, adopting organic methods and advanced agri-tech solutions can improve productivity while ensuring long-term sustainability.

The event saw active participation from NSS Program Officers Dr. V. Jonithin, Dr. Sameer, and Dr. Kiran, along with Coordinator P. Suresh and student volunteers. The initiative was commended by University In-charge Vice Chancellor Dr. K. Rajasekhara Rao ,Pro Vice Chancellors Dr. AVS Prasad and Dr. N. Venkatram, Deans Dr. KRS Prasad and Dr. Habibullah Khan, and NSS Program Coordinator Dr. P. Srikanth Reddy.

The awareness program successfully equipped local farmers with innovative, cost-effective, and sustainable agricultural practices, reinforcing K L Deemed to be University's commitment to rural development and technological integration in farming.
