K L Deemed to be University Conducts Awareness Program on Harmful Effects of Junk Food.
The Center for Extension Activities (CEA) at KL Deemed University organized an awareness program on Thursday to educate the residents of Pedavadlapudi in Mangalagiri Mandal about the adverse effects of junk food on health.
Students from CEA highlighted how excessive consumption of junk food can lead to serious health conditions, including:
Obesity and Weight Gain - High-fat and calorie-dense foods contribute to
excessive weight.
Diabetes Risk - Overconsumption of sugary foods increases the likelihood
of developing diabetes.
Heart and Kidney Diseases - Processed foods with high fat and sodium
content can lead to cardiovascular and kidney problems.
Digestive Disorders - Preservative-laden foods can negatively impact the
digestive system.
Cancer Risk - Prolonged consumption of junk food may contribute to the
development of life-threatening diseases.
The program was led by CEA Coordinator Dr. Venkateshwarlu and Program In-charge Dr. Subrahmanyam, along with active participation from students and faculty members.
To acknowledge their efforts, K L Deemed to be University leaders, including In-charge Vice Chancellor Dr. K. Rajasekhara Rao, Pro Vice Chancellors Dr. AVS Prasad and Dr. N. Venkat Ram, Registrar Dr. K. Subbarao, and Dean (Student Affairs) Dr. K.R.S. Prasad, extended their appreciation.
